Katrina is new to UrbanPromise, having joined our team as Assistant Site Director at Camp Peace in the spring of 2010. Starting in September 2010, she will move over to Camp Grace as their new Site Director. She is excited to learn and grow with UrbanPromise in the coming years and is looking forward to building relationships with the kids. Her vision is that our programs would continue to be a place where children feel welcomed, supported, known and cherished, and that it would be an environment that enables them to flourish.
Katrina grew up in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. After graduating high school she volunteered in Thailand, went to school in Abbotsford and interned in Cambodia before moving to Vancouver a year ago. She has a BA in Intercultural Studies from Columbia Bible College and is passionate about social justice, southeast Asia and advocating specifically for women and children living on the margins of society. Katrina also is an artist and enjoys painting, writing, reading and just being creative! Katrina is married to Andrew and together they love living in Vancouver; exploring new neighbourhoods, biking to the ocean and trying new food at Vancouver's many ethnic restaurants!
