Urban Promise

What happens to those UrbanPromise kids who are too old to be campers, but not yet old enough to be StreetLeaders? The Junior StreetLeader program offers to be a bridge between going from camper to leader, and elementary school to high school.

The Junior StreetLeader program is a leadership and job training initiative designed to prepare grade 8 students to be leaders in the StreetLeader program and in the workforce. They will be trained to be helpful assistants to the camp leaders, teach activities, and help out behind the scenes. They will develop useful life skills such as taking initiative, problem solving and thinking for themselves.

Each Junior StreetLeader will be placed with a StreetLeader mentor who will walk along side them, help them develop their skills and be a positive encouragement throughout the year.
