Urban Promise

This is what you can expect to experience in the StreetLeader program! The vision of the StreetLeader program is to empower youth to become positive leaders and role models in their communities, by supporting and challenging youth in their social, spiritual, academic, and physical development.

StreetLeaders volunteer as leaders in UrbanPromise’s AfterSchool Programs and Summer Day Camps for kids. We treat the whole experience as much like a “real job” as possible, with a full application and interview process, high expectations for attendance and punctuality, regular goal-setting and evaluation feedback, and continuing leadership training and development.

Throughout the program there are awesome opportunities to build friendships with children, peers and adults, and to both provide and receive mentorship. StreetLeader nights are great times to hang out together at the beach, at laser tag, rock climbing, or many other interesting events!
